Web-Crunch Digest - Issue #201
By Andy L • Issue #201 • View online
Long time no talk! Welcome to issue #201 (Wow, that’s a lot)
If you are reading this you might have noticed a rather long lapse in my content publishing schedule.
Where I’ve been and what I’ve been up to
The TL;DR; is I needed a break from the publishing game. It caught up to me and I suffered from some burnout.
I’ll be continuing to produce more content regularly but it might come in longer strides of time between each new piece.
While I was away, I took some time to work on new ideas, learn new things related to web3, and just relax a bit more with family.
I think breaks are good and help reset your sights on just what it is you want out of life. Maybe I’ll vlog about this a bit coming up.
New and upcoming content
I recently published a couple of guides related to Ruby on Rails. One is how to roll your own complete billing solution using Stripe Checkout and Customer portal. It’s a long one but a good crash course in understanding how to integrate Stripe with Rails.
Just before writing this I published a shorter guide related to enums in Rails. I really love this feature and use it on web-crunch.com.
Coming up I’m hoping to do a “day in the life” type of guide where I update web-crunch.com from Rails 6.0 to Rails 7. Doing so is kind of a pain and I figured sharing the process could help some folks.
