This week I hacked on a new Ruby on Rails application template that might be my new go-to. The template leverages some new tech called Vite to take care of the front-end. Rails ships with Webpack by default. As an app size scales, Webpack can become a chore since it needs to transpile all your JavaScript, sometimes CSS, and sometimes assets after each change. Doing this over and over wastes a lot of time. Vite is the answer to that dilemma. I go into more detail in this week’s video (linked below).
