Welcome to issue #194 of the Web-Crunch Digest!
This week I kicked off a new series revolving around creating a basic API using Ruby on Rails as the backend. The driver here is to introduce new ways to use Rails if you use something different on the front-end. This could be a client-side framework like React.js, Vue.js, Svelte, or maybe it’s a mobile application. Any of these frameworks could leverage an API build with Rails.
The series has 2 parts live so far that discuss returning JSON data, routing, and API versioning. In the future, I plan to take on authentication, and a few more topics that make sense for building restful APIs.
